12-16-10

Hi guys,
Today I am doing major school work. I am trying to get halfway through my school work by Christmas break. Well it looks like I am going to work over the holidays, but I am really trying hard to get it done today because we are going to go to Jump Zone tomorrow because Ally's friend Mollie is coming into town. Mollie has a cute little brother named Aubrey and we are "best friends forever." I am excited because I almost have all of my Christmas presents bought. I have my mom's, dad's, sister's, friend's and I am getting my grandma's and grandpa's. I am so excited! I think I am getting an Ipod touch for Christmas but I am not sure. I hope I get one. This Christmas I am trying to focus on what I have, not on what I don't have. It has been a challenge seeing all my friends with Ipods but I don't care. I don't want to be selfish, I want to be selfless.

Helping Out

I am very excited right now!!! This morning I went over to my friend Emily's house at 9 a.m. so they could drive me to Bethany Baptist Church in Protho Junction. Last year I went and helped set up the Christmas Store. I didn't actually help do the Christmas Store. This year I did actually help with the Christmas Store. Emily and I were in the boys room (4-12 years in case you were wondering). There were a bunch of people so we helped them get down to their car with their stuff. We had a bunch of stuffed animals so we gave the people one stuffed animal per child. The grill team from our church (Central Baptist of North Little Rock) was there serving hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, chips, and cupcakes. I got a sweet peace sign necklace and a plaid clip. I am way into peace signs and plaid just to let you know. :) That is pretty much all that is up with me except yesterday I was making my moms Christmas present and I was cutting a thread and I cut my finger. My mom said it could have had stiches but we didn't go to the hospital we just put a butterfly band-aid on it and two regular band-aids on it. I looked at it last night and it was purple and really gross looking. :(

Christmas Cheer

Hi guys (and gals),
So I just wanted to let you in on something I plan on doing around Christmas time, I will let you know the date later. Last year my friend and I had just finished eating at Larry's Pizza and she was going to stay with me and hang out for a little while longer. Well, I said "Wouldn't it be funny to yell 'Merry Christmas' to everyone while we are taking you home." I thought about it for a while and said "I dare you to yell 'Merry Christmas' at the next car we see." Well my friend did yell 'Merry Christmas' at the next car we saw and I said "That didn't look to embarrassing so the next car we see I will yell 'Merry Christmas' at them." I did and soon we were yelling 'Merry Christmas' left and right. It was fun and I can't wait to do it again this year!!! I wanted to let you in on that and I will blog again to let you know what day. Think about it wouldn't it be funny to have a couple people in all fifty states yelling 'Merry Christmas' at people!!!

Talk to ya later,
Olivia

November 5, 2010

Hi guys sorry I haven't been on in a long time! Happy November!!! I am so excited that November is finally here. Why, you might ask? Because it means we are one month away from Christmas! Also, because my mom's,dad's and aunt's birthday are in October I am so glad that is over! Not that I don't like to celebrate my parents birthday, but it bugs me that I can't drive yet and go get them a birthday present without them knowing. Anyway... I have a hayride with my youth group this Saturday. I am excited about that. Also, I am go to McDonald's for lunch today. I hope everyone who reads this blog has a great day today! Right now I am listening to WOW Hits 2010 from the library. I put it in purple so you would know what the title was. Okay, now for the Jesus speech I have been building up to for the whole time I have had this blog. Jesus is here for you. He is the the everlasting friend. To accept him into your heart means to believe in him, to want to obey him, and to follow him for the rest of your life. It guarantees a life in heaven not in the firery hell. To accept him in your heart you have to pray to him. Get on your knees and ask him to save you, that you want to follow and obey him! I hope with all of my heart that you pray this prayer that guarantees you a life in heaven after you die. And if you just prayed that prayer you have a job to do. Go tell your friends, your family, and hobos on the street about Jesus. Please! Jesus is here for everyone. Here for rich people, poor people or people in between. Talk to you later!

Love,
Olivia

October 21, 2010

Hi guys. Today has been a good day. I went to the park today with my mom, sister, and my mom's friend. Last night at church Kylan (my youth minister) talked about not fitting in. He said if we fit in then how will people be able to tell the difference between us (Christians) and others (non-believers). It got me thinking how many times a week we look at someone who is different and say "Who is that?!" Maybe, just maybe, if we could be different for example: smile at someone you don't know, respect people for who they are, or don't roll your eyes behind your parents back when they tell you to invite the "loser" at your school to your b-day party. Maybe it could be the start of a new friendship, a question about why you are the only one at your school who doesn't gossip (which could lead to a new Christian), or a brand new discovery that the "loser" has an awesome house and a Facebook page (really? you never took the time to look). Just because someone is different doesn't mean that they will abandon you when your dad stops working at the candy factory and gets a new job at Lowe's. Two weeks ago I had a major freak-out when I realized, or thought I realized, that the reason that I didn't have a lot of friends in my youth group was because I didn't wear the right clothes. Well, when Kylan talked about fitting in I realized I didn't have to wear the right clothes to fit in. I don't even have to fit in! How exciting is that?! I just thought I would tell you about that and give you something to think about. Also, for the girls who see this I am reading an awesome book called "My Name Is Chloe" and it is by Melody Carlson. You gals should totally read it!

Olivia

October 15, 2010

Hi,
Hi guys sorry I haven't been on in a long time. Last Saturday I left for Gatlinburg, TN. I had a great time there! On Tuesday we went shopping in Gatlinburg and I got an awesome t-shirt that has my name on it. For people that go to my church I will probably wear it on Wednesday night. Please pray for my Aunt Bobbie, her leg is really hurting and the doctor called her today and said that something is wrong with her back. Speaking of backs those of you who know me know that I have scoliosis and I have been having to wear a back brace at night for 8 hours. That is going ok except it has velcro straps and they made a mark on them that I had to start at and then they made a mark that I should have been at after ten days. Well, I am still at the first mark because they must have measured wrong because I tried to tighten the straps to the second mark and I couldn't even breathe :(.  Also, every one who reads this blog go to youtube and look up "Selena Gomez Rock God with lyrics" and tell me what you think. I didn't know quite what to make of it. My favorite singer right now is Rebecca St. James. I really like the song she sings "Better is One Day." But, my favorite song will alway be "Our God" by Chris Tomlin.

Monday

Hi guys today I went to the park with some of Ally's (my little sister) home school friends. Last night Ally had a girl over named Mollie. I had a sleepover the night before so I went to sleep at 9:00 p.m. I just wanted to let you know that I have not dropped off the face off the earth and that I am really going to try to blog more often. This week our youth minister-Kylan, for those of you who don't know him- went on a mission trip to Pine Ridge, South Dakota. They are preaching to the people on the Indian reservation. They are supposed to be back on Saturday. Tomorrow we are going to Chuck E. Cheese with Ally's friend Mollie.

Jesus Loves You

Jesus Loves You

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on in a while. So yesterday I went to Wednesday night church and my youth pastor talked about leaving a legacy. He said that he googled "names that will live forever" and he didn't know half of the people on the list. He also said that it isn't about fame. He said (for example) there was a guy at our church that recently left his name is Rocky. I wear shirts that say Central Baptist Church and random people will walk up to me and say "Hey, you go to Rocky's church!" And I'm like "Yeah, I do." So I guess that was important to me and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Jesus Loves You

Hi, guys this is Olivia. I just found out that only three people have looked at my blog. One if you do not count family members. But it will be okay.... I hope because when I go to church tomorrow I will give some other people my blog website. I have e-mailed all of my friends my blog website and the one person I was talking about at the beginning is the only one who has taken the time to look at it. Thanks Sarah! My mom of course has looked at it and was like
"Technology these days!" My grandma has looked at it (Thanks Grandma!). Anyway just wanted to let you all know that I have not forgotten my blog!

Tuesday

Hi,
Today my family (mom, sister and I) did a Bible study thing. We usually do this sort of thimg in the morning but sometimes it slips our minds. For those of you who don't know me I am homeschooled so I don't have to be at school at 7:30 in the morning! Anyway we learned about King Josiah and that he became the king at eight years old. My little sister is seven years old so I could only imagine the poor, hopeless people of that city, right? Wrong! It says in the Bible that Josiah smashed all the idols of Baal (a false god) and that he found and rebuilt the Temple (located in Jerusalem). Wow! I was really impressed. Not only did an eight year old know to stop people from worshipping false gods but he also knew that rebuilding a temple would be the right thing to do. Okay, I just read the passage again and he was 26 when he rebuilt the temple but still! Just wante dto tell you about that!

Hi!!!

Hello, first of all I want to say thank you to my parents for letting me have this blog. Secondly, thank you to the people at church (mostly the Disciple Now weekend leaders) for giving me the idea to be a disciple. I know most of the people who read this will be from my church because I will be giving you the website on Wednesday night. But, for the people who are just surfing the web this blog is for you (mostly). I am here to tell you about what Jesus did for you and also an easy way to live forever. I hope this blog will change your life. Um... I guess this is all I have to say for my first blog post.
